ABOUT US
Long Beach Chamber Music Group was created as a response to a need for an amateur community orchestra in the Long Beach area. The group started with about three people and for the first few years only consisted of string players. Now we are often joined by friends from the Long Beach Community Band and other local musician friends to create a full orchestra experience. Our orchestra community is kind and supportive. There are no auditions to join. You simply must have a love for music and want to play.
MEET OUR FOUNDERS
Agnieszka Borzuchowski
Violinist, Conductor & Educator
Born in Warsaw, Poland, and raised in the San Francisco Bay Area, Agnieszka began playing violin at age ten. She quickly rose through elite youth orchestras (Berkeley, Oakland, and YPSO), touring internationally across Europe, Asia, and Oceania, and performing at Carnegie Hall. She was also a solo competition winner at Stanford’s Advanced Suzuki Workshop. She earned her music degree at Bob Cole Conservatory of Music (CSULB) and has studied with Robin Reed, Julia Athayde, Robin Sharp, Hegena Boulejn, and Andrea Byers.
She is a versatile performer deeply rooted in orchestral and chamber music, Agnieszka’s current roles and achievements include:
-
Founder & Concertmaster: Established the Long Beach Chamber Music Group and the Piazza String Quartet a decade ago. She also founded the Quarantine Quintet and Trio, performing regularly at venues like Casa Romantica and the Curtis Theatre.
-
Orchestral Musician: Active member of the La Mirada Symphony, Huntington Beach Symphony, and Millennial Choirs and Orchestras.
-
Genre-Blending Artist: Expands beyond classical as a member of the Long Beach rock band Vicious Kinids, a featured studio/event artist, and a frequent soloist with the Long Beach Community Band.
A dedicated educator, Agnieszka serves as the Strings Instructor for grades 4–8 at Sycamore Creek Community Charter School and maintains a active private teaching studio for violin, viola and cello.

Mark Williams
Mark Williams is the founder of the Long Beach Chamber Music Group (LBCMG). A Kansas native, Vietnam veteran, and Cal State Long Beach civil engineering alumnus, Mr. Williams enjoyed a long, successful career with the LA Department of Water and Power before retiring in 2011. That same year, fueled by a newfound passion for the cello and the mentorship of instructor Agnieszka Borzuchowski, he set out to build a thriving musical community in Long Beach. After 11 years, 400+ rehearsals, and more than 30 concerts, Mr. Williams successfully led LBCMG to its next chapter, incorporating it as a California Nonprofit organization in 2026.
